The Regent Pilot Operated Semi-Lift Diaphragm Solenoid Valve is a 2-way (on/off control) valve engineered for high flow rates across a medium pressure range, specifically from 0.5 bar to 12 bar. This design is a versatile choice because it combines the benefits of both direct-acting and standard pilot-operated valves. ⚙️ Operating Principle: Semi-Lift / Semi-Direct Action The "Semi-Lift" or "Semi-Direct" mechanism means the valve can open reliably starting from a very low or zero differential pressure (as low as 0.5 bar), while still utilizing the main line pressure for full opening assistance. 1. Normally Closed (NC) State (De-energized): The valve is closed. The diaphragm is held firmly against the main valve seat by the force of a return spring, the pressure of the fluid above the diaphragm (via a small pilot channel), and the seal on the solenoid plunger. 2. Opening (Energized): • The solenoid coil is energized, pulling the plunger (core) upwards. • The plunger is mechanically linked to the diaphragm, and the magnetic force is strong enough to mechanically lift the diaphragm slightly, opening the main flow path even at low pressure. • Simultaneously, the pilot orifice is opened, releasing the high-pressure fluid trapped above the diaphragm to the outlet side. • The resulting pressure differential between the high inlet pressure (under the diaphragm) and the reduced pressure above the diaphragm provides the powerful force needed to fully lift the diaphragm against the spring, ensuring a large, high-flow opening.
